Staying safe

A reminder before you meet someone you do not know. Community guidelines

• Agree the price in the chat before the job starts.

• Do not pay before the job is done. Pay only when the work is finished and you are happy with it.

• Do not share your bank details, card number, sort code, passwords or payment-app login. LendHands never asks for these.

• Pay by bank transfer with a clear reference, or in cash, once the job is done.

• Keep a record of what was agreed and paid: the chat, a receipt or the transfer.

• You are meeting a neighbour, not a company. If the job is at your home, you do not have to be there alone. Tell someone you trust where you are and when you expect to be finished.

• If something feels wrong, stop. You do not have to go ahead.
