How LendHands works

LendHands connects you with people nearby for small jobs. You keep the money. We do not take a cut. The job is between you and your neighbour.

Before you create an account

  1. Look at jobs, hands and business hands. You can search by county.
  2. You can read this page, the price list, the community guidelines and the safety advice.
  3. You need an account before you can post, message anyone, or join the community chat.

After you create an account

  1. Add your photo, name, address and a short description of what you do.
  2. Choose how you use LendHands: you need a job done, you want to work, or you are a business.
  3. You can pause an advert, make it live again, or mark a job as done and leave a review.

If you need a job done

  1. Post the job for free. Add a photo, a full description, and when it must be finished.
  2. People contact you in a private chat. Agree the price between yourselves.
  3. Urgent is optional. The usual price is £5 including VAT. Until 28 February 2027 it is half price. Your advert stays at the top for 5 days, and hands within 15 miles get one notice a day.
  4. A pack of 5 bumps is optional. The usual price is £2 plus VAT. Until 28 February 2027 it is half price. Each bump holds your advert at the top for 24 hours.
  5. When the job is finished, press Job done and leave a star rating and a review.

If you want to work

  1. A hands advert is usually £5.99 plus VAT a month. Until 28 February 2027 it is £1 a month.
  2. A highlighted advert is usually £9.99 plus VAT a month and stays at the top. Until 28 February 2027 it is half price.
  3. Before you pay, choose to renew each month or stop after that month.
  4. If you stop, your advert stays on your profile but goes inactive. You can still look at jobs. You cannot message people or use the community chat until you subscribe again.

If you are a business

  1. Choose Business Hands when you sign up. The usual price is £16.99 plus VAT a month. Until 28 February 2027 it is half price.
  2. Add your business description, up to 20 photos of finished work, and, if you want, your Trustpilot and social media links.

Chat and safety

  1. Community chat is only for people within 15 miles. Do not share your phone number, address, bank details or email there.
  2. Press a name to open a private chat. Only the two of you can see it.
  3. Meet in a public place first, and do not pay before the job is done.
  4. Be friendly and respectful. Abuse, threats, not paying, or not turning up can get an account suspended or deleted.
